Laminate Flooring

Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring is a type of synthetic flooring made up of layers of different materials fused together in a process known as lamination. It offers a number of features and benefits that make it popular choice.

One of its best features is its ability to replicate the look of a wide range of hardwood surfaces and ceramic flooring.

Due to the way in which it is manufactured, laminate flooring is hardwearing and resistant to wear and tear. This same feature makes it easy to clean and maintain for a flooring choice that you can depend on to last.

Laminate flooring has gained in popularity of late due to its versatile applications and ease of installation. It can be laid at any grade (as long as water prevention methods have been taken), drastically reducing the cost of having to remove old flooring before fitting new. An entire floor can be fitted in 36 hours whereas hardwood must be left to acclimatize for 3-6 weeks before being fitted. Progress in the manufacturing of this flooring has meant you don’t need to use adhesive. Once a sheet of underlayment material has been fitted, you can easily fit the planks or tiles into one another. Because the laminate is not laid directly onto the subfloor, but rather the pieces are interlocked, the material can bloat or compact due to changes in pressure and temperature without causing damage to the subfloor.

Versatile and affordable, laminate flooring is a perfect solution for your home or office, with new finishes such as registered embossing, beveled edges, and extremely realistic textures making laminate the perfect alternative to more expensive flooring.
