Seagrass Flooring
Seagrass Flooring
Seagrass Flooring is instantly recognisable from its organic yellow-green hue, fading and aging to a beautiful golden glow over time, giving it an unmistakable and authentic presence.
Grown from tropical grasses, mainly in the low-lying areas of Asia-Pacific, seagrass is a durable plant fibre. Once harvested, seagrass is dried and converted into a yarn, which is then woven into a variety of stylish natural flooring designs. It is one of the toughest natural fibres, making seagrass flooring a hard impermeable fibre. Its non-porous nature makes it naturally stain resistant, anti-static, and hard wearing.
It is perfect in most domestic locations and for families with children or pets. We recommend seagrass floorcoverings in areas of the home with both light and heavy footfall. However, Kennington Flooring does not recommend the use of seagrass on stairs and protective castors or pads should be used when placing heavy items of furniture on a seagrass floorcovering.
As well as being a 100% natural, renewable and environmentally friendly floorcovering, seagrass carpet is easy to live with. It has a naturally occurring waxy coating, repelling dirt and dust, making it perfect for allergy sufferers. Regular hoovering will keep it looking in top condition and any spills can be quickly treated with a damp cloth – what could be simpler!
Comforting under foot, strong and hard wearing, seagrass carpets are suited to almost any interior. Our friendly team are on hand to discuss your project and give you guidance on any of our natural floor coverings.
